Welcome

Welcome to Bright Path Counseling

If you’re here, your child might be having a hard time and you’re not sure what to try next. I know how painful it is to watch them struggle.

You’re not alone. These challenges are more common than they seem—and with the right support, kids and families can learn how to move through them with more connection, clarity and calm.

I’m Dr. Maya Ellison, a licensed psychologist in Pasadena, CA who specializes in working with children, teens and their families. I bring a warm, playful, and collaborative spirit to my work because I believe that trust, curiosity and connection are at the heart of real growth.

Connection

Who I Work With

I work with children, teens, and the parents who care deeply for them.

Children (Ages 5+)

Children (Ages 5+)

Young kids often show us how they feel through behavior, not words. Through play and connection, therapy helps them feel safe, understood and supported.

Teens

Teens

Adolescence can be overwhelming—for everyone. I offer a steady, respectful space where teens can explore their emotions, identity and relationships.

Parents

Parents

You don’t have to do this alone. I work with parents to navigate hard moments with more clarity, confidence and care.

My Approach

A Warm and Collaborative Approach to Therapy for Children and Families

I aim to make therapy a place of curiosity, growth and emotional safety. Kids and teens are free to be playful, messy and real in our time together.

I use play-based and trauma-informed approaches to help children explore their emotions at their own pace—whether that’s through art, storytelling, games or quiet reflection.

I’ll meet your child where they are while keeping an eye on the goals we’ve set together. For parents, I offer steady guidance, thoughtful insight and practical tools to use between sessions.
